Chicago in the spring is full of excitement, especially on Saint Patrick’s Day. From green rivers to vibrant pop-up bars, my road trip to the Windy City was one for the books! Here’s a breakdown of my adventure, from checking into my hotel to my favorite waffle treat.

Located right across from JoJo Shake Bar (23 West Hubbard Street), I couldn’t resist walking over for the Lucky Charm Event from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm. It was a festive atmosphere filled with charm and luck—perfect for kicking off the Saint Patrick’s Day weekend!

Day Three:

River Dyeing

Saint Patrick’s Day in Chicago is something special. The city was packed, especially around the time of the famous river dyeing. Everywhere you looked, people were wearing green, and the excitement in the air was contagious. However, a lot of events required advanced ticket purchases, so if you plan to visit next year, make sure to buy your tickets early!

Day Four:

Charm’d Pop Up Bar

Open Friday 4pm - 2am

3505 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60657

FAVORITE:

Willies and Waffles

Open 4 pm - 4 am

3706 N Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60613

On my last day, I headed to Willies and Waffles (3706 N Halsted St), which was open from 4 pm until 4 am. I had two amazing waffles: the "Cookies n' Cum", a delicious creation with white chocolate, Oreo crumbles, and whipped cream, and the "Banana Batter Blaster", filled with Nutella and banana cream. The waffles were crispy, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet—truly a standout experience! It was a fun, laughter-filled night, and Willies and Waffles quickly became the highlight of my trip. If you're ever in Chicago, this place is a must!
