Write in a journal
Put your feelings into words. Learn to reflect and recognize triggers, prioritize problems and manage anxiety. Once you've identified the problem or stressor, you can develop a plan to reduce stress and resolve the problem. Journaling also provides an opportunity for positive self talk, planning the future and practicing manifestation.
Cozy up for a Movie Marathon
Our movie list is perfect for family movie night. No need to worry, these movies are kid friendly but feel free to double check the ratings for your child. If you like movies that put you in the mood to cuddle up in a blanket and drink hot cocoa then these are the movies for you. These movies will give you the fall feels.
Baking can be therapeutic. Baking keeps your hands and your mind focused on an activity. Baking also enchants the senses. Touching the dough and feeling the warmth of the oven, smelling the spices, seeing your hard work come to life, hearing the timer ding and tasting the finished product. Light a Candle
Fill your home with the scent of fall. Romance yourself in the bathtub with candles, bath salts and some reading materials or music. Relax to the scent of maple pecan, apple cider and pumpkin spice. There are so many choices for candles. Try a candle with a beeswax, coconut wax or soy wax base. Beeswax, coconut wax and soy wax are eco friendly options that burn slowly and cleanly.
A pair of knit socks
Grab a good book, light a candle and put on a pair of knit socks for a magical morning. Or lounge away with the perfect film and a fully lit fireplace on a crisp afternoon.
Start a hobby
Get those creative juices flowing. Try your hand at painting or knitting, practice your sowing or make a no-sow blanket to cuddle up in or get lost in an adult coloring book. There are an endless amount of hobbies to to help destress after a long work day.
Cleanse and clean
Cleanse and clean your space to refresh your mind. A cluttered space can bring anxiety and stress. Remove the clutter and start fresh. Make your bed, cleanse surfaces and fluff and fold the laundry.
Read a good book
Escape into a world of magic and fairytale. There is nothing I love more than a good book paired with a good cup of coffee. Whether you chose sci-fi, fantasy or non-fiction, you can live a thousand lives through books.
Drink a warm beverage
Pick from your favorite warm beverage. Hot tea with ginger and honey, warm cocoa topped with marshmallows or hot water with lemon. The options are endless. Boil water in a tea kettle and melt your stress away.
Listen to music
Fill your home with the sounds of fall. Pick your favorite fall playlist or create an ambience of sound. Personally, I love the sound of rain in the city, a roaring fireplace or a busy coffee shop. Another fall vibe is a vinyl record on the record player. You cannot go wrong with an album by Ed Sheeran to put you in a fall mood.
Yoga / Meditate
Feel your worries float away as you fold into the forward bend or downward dog. Take time to to practice mindfulness and listen to your body. Scan your body from head to toe taking time to resolve tension and stress.
Ease into the day with the scent of eucalyptus or treat yourself to a tea tree oil face mask. Essential oils have an endless list of uses; face masks, bath bombs, diffused and even ingested.
